Weekend Robberies

Three Charlotte fast food restaurants were targeted in armed robberies this weekend.

The first robbery occurred on Friday, just before midnight. It happened at the Wing Zone- located in a shopping center at the corner of Monroe Road and Sardis Road North. Police say three men wearing Halloween masks walked into the store just before closing. One of the men was armed with a handgun. Police say they made the two employees inside lay in the floor, took cash and ran away. No one was injured during the robbery.

The second robbery occurred around 1 am Sunday morning at the McDonalds located at 3058 Eastway Drive. Police say a man grabbed a McDonalds employee through the drive-thru window and held him while taking money out of the register. The employee told police that the suspect was inside a silver Dodge Intrepid with other men. No weapon was seen, but police say that the robber did use physical force, classifying this as a strong-armed robbery.

The third robbery occurred around 9:30 am Sunday at an Arby's restaurant located on Little Rock Road. Police say the Arby’s employees were forced into the restaurant’s freezer during the robbery. Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
