A fifth grade student at Barringer Elementary Academic Center was found with a gun in his backpack today. Police say the gun was not loaded and the student did not have any bullets. School officials say the student did not make any threats against other students and they do not think he meant any harm.The big question is where the 10 year old got the gun... It is downright scary to know a child this young has access to a firearm! The boy was released to his parents and CMS suspended him for 10 days.
A second weapon was found on a female student at the Kennedy Middle School. A knife was found during a random weapon search conducted by school officials. The juvenile was arrested.
