Weekend Crimes in Charlotte

CMPD reported the following crimes which occurred over the weekend in Charlotte. Please keep in mind this is a very limited listing...

Sunday:
* 500 block of Goldstaff Lane: The North Tryon Division and Street Crimes Department conducted a drug investigation. The investigation led to the arrests of three individuals and the recovery of over $45,000, 17 ounces of heroin and 5 ounces of cocaine. As soon as I find out the names of the suspects, I will update this post.
* 1900 block of Mereview Court: A male victim was shot in the back of his left leg. He sustained non-life threatening injuries. The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a blue coat, blue jeans and white shoes. He was armed with an assault rifle.

Saturday:
* 8920 Cliff Cameron Drive: Officers received a call about a 2 year child old alone in the parking lot. CMPD officers found her and she showed them where she lived. Police checked the apartment and did not find anyone in the apartment. The child's mother came home while officers were at the scene and she told police she left her little girl with her boyfriend. Police made a referral to the Department of Social Services.
* 8123 Carter Creek Drive : Victim advises that he was walking in his parking lot of the Dominion Crown Point Apartments when he was robbed by five black males. Police say all the suspects were wearing black sweatshirts and jeans. One suspect reportedly had a pipe. The robbers took the victims wallet. The victim was not injured.
* 2345 Eastway Drive: Victim reported that he was robbed by two black males. One of the suspects was armed with a silver handgun. The suspect struck the victim several times in the head with the handgun and the victim sustained minor injuries. The suspects fled the scene in a silver four door vehicle.

Friday:
* 1800 S Tryon Street: The victim in this case told police that he had just cashed a check at a check cashing place. As he exited the business, he was approached by two black male suspects who robbed him. The suspects are both described as black males, One was wearing a red shirt and mask and had a handgun. The second suspect was wearing a baseball cap and white shirt. Police say the suspects left in a black suburban.
* Farm Pond Lane and Albemarle Road: A 12 year old boy was physically attacked by a 15 year old and two 14 year old boys. Two of the suspects physically attacked the victim and took his money. Police officers located the 15 year old suspect and the victim confirmed his identity. Later, Police caught the other two suspects. Police charged two of the suspects with Common Law Robbery and they were placed in a juvenile facility. Police say the third boy is considered a witness.
