On April 1st, CMPD Officers responded to 1209 North Allen Street around 8:30pm in reference to a report of someone stabbed. Police located 38-year old Lisa Dorthy Blackmon in the front yard of the residence.Lisa Blackmon was severely injured when she was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center by Medic. She was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Police arrested the suspect Vernon Stewart (R) on the scene. Police say Stewart and Blackmon knew each other and were involved in an ongoing dispute, but it was not a domestic related incident.
