The three men who were wanted by Mint Hill Police turned themselves in today. Beau Baskin, (Top) Daniel 'Heath' Baskin, (Middle) and Russell Nelson McGee (bottom) are all charged with murder, conspiracy and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, causing serious injury.
Police say the Baskin brothers and McGee beat 20-year old Andrew Chester to death and assaulted three other people early Sunday morning on Williams Road, which is located in Mint Hill.According to a search warrant obtained by The Charlotte Observer, here is what happened:
Chester and three other people were riding four wheelers on trails in the woods that come out in front of the Baskin home. One of the riders started doing burnouts in the Baskin's yard.
One of the three suspects threw an object at Chester, which hit him in the head and he was knocked unconscious. His four wheeler ran over his body.
The Baskin brothers and McGee were not finished with Chester. As Chester lay on the ground unconscious, the three suspects continued to beat Andrew Chester by kicking, hitting and beating him with an aluminum baseball bat. In addition, the three suspects assaulted the three other people who were with Chester.
Police were called and found Chester unconscious but still breathing. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and he died the following day.
All three suspects are in the Mecklenburg County Jail without bond.
