WANTED: Mecklenburg County Parole/Probation Absconders

According to the NC Dept of Corrections website, Mecklenburg County currently has 252 probation/ parole absconders that are wanted by law enforcement.  All 252 persons have active warrants out of Mecklenburg County.

If you know the immediate whereabouts of any of these persons, please dial 911.  Otherwise, please call the DPS Division of Adult Corrections at 888-646-0024 as shown in the photos on the NC DOC website.

Please help law enforcement and the Dept of Corrections get these parole/probation absconders off the streets today!

CMPD Robbery Detectives Seeking Serial Armed Robber

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Robbery Unit is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect pictured in the attached photographs. Earlier this morning, there were two convenience store/gas station robberies. Detectives believe that this suspect may potentially be the same one that robbed convenience stores during May and June of this year. All of these robberies have taken place between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and all occurred at convenience stores and gas stations.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned black male between 20-30 years of age, approximately 5’10”-6’0”, average /muscular build, some facial hair and left handed. The suspect was wearing blue jeans, gray and black digital camouflage zip-up hooded sweatshirt, black t-shirt underneath the hooded sweatshirt and a black ski mask over his face with the hood of the sweatshirt pulled up over his head. The suspect was also wearing blue gloves with a “NY” logo on them and had a black or silver handgun.

CMPD Robbery Unit Seeking Armed Robber

Detectives with the CMPD Robbery Unit are attempting to identify the subject in the attached photograph in reference to robbery case that occurred on 3313 James Road, in the Hickory Grove Division.   He is described as a dark skinned B/M about 6 feet tall, thin with short hair. He was last seen leaving in the victim’s silver Town and Country van displaying SC tag ICG-754.

There was another suspect not captured on video. He is described a B/M about 6 feet tall, thin with dreads pulled up into a ball. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. Both suspects were armed with handguns during the robbery incident. 

The victim reported that the victim was robbed of personal property at gun point, forced under threat of being shot to stay in the victim's vehicle, and was then transported to different locations by the listed suspects. At different locations the victim was forced to try and withdraw money or obtain money for the listed suspects.

CMPD Seeking Convenience Store/Gas Station Robber

CMPD Robbery Unit Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the person pictured in the shown photographs.

The suspect is wanted in connection with several robberies from convenience stores/gas stations. Two recent incidents include the June 4, 2012, robbery of the Kangaroo Express located at 6229 W. Sugar Creek Rd and the June 3, 2012, robbery of the Circle-K located at 7225 Albemarle Rd.

This person should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information concerning his identity and or whereabouts is asked to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 704-334-1600.

CMPD Seeking Bojangles Robbery Suspects

Please review the shown photographs in reference to a robbery from the Bojangles at 2929 Freedom Drive. The incident occurred on May 29, 2012.

The female suspect is wearing a “Miami Heat” hat and has a star tattoo on her left wrist.

Police Seek Suspect in Rite-Aid Robbery

CMPD is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect shown in the photos below.  On May 20th, the suspect robbed the Rite-Aid store located at 2215 West Arrowood Road.

The suspect vehicle appears to be driving some type of Sport Utility or Crossover style vehicle (possibly a Chevy Traverse) which is silver in Color.   If you can ID the suspect, please call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

Man Wanted for Cutting Electronic Monitor

Wade Bolton

Wade Bolton is wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) on outstanding warrants for possession of a firearm by a felon, and interfering with an electronic monitoring device. Bolton has been on CMPD Electronic Monitoring since he posted a $25,000 bond on February 14, 2012.

Wade Robert Bolton is a habitual felon with an extensive criminal history including several arrests larceny from auto, auto theft, breaking and entering, firearms violations and assaults charges.

Bolton was scheduled to appear in superior court today, however he failed to appear and later cut his monitor off in the area of Marlowe Avenue.  Bolton is the fourteenth offender to cut off his court ordered monitor in 2012.

Police Seeking Suspects for Robbery/Assault/ Sexual Assault @ Days Inn

Please see the attached photographs in reference to a robbery that occurred on May 15, 2012 at the Days Inn located at 1408 W. Sugar Creek Rd.  The victim was originally carjacked at 100 Tom Hunter Rd. There were four black male suspects and two black females present for the Robbery/Assault/ Sexual Assault.

FBI Offering $20,000 Reward for Info on Loomis Employee Shooting

The FBI Charlotte Division is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information which leads to the identification and successful prosecution of the person responsible for robbing an armored car and shooting a Loomis employee outside an ATM on Fairview Road in the Foxcroft Shopping Center in Charlotte, NC, on January 23, 2012.

Witnesses describe the robber as a black male, 15-25 years old, with a small build. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black t-shirt, grey sweatpants, black Nike shoes with a white swoosh, and a baseball cap with a silver sticker on the brim. He had a white glove on his right hand; it can be seen in surveillance video as he runs away with a gun in his hand.

The FBI is investigating this robbery and shooting in partnership with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Anyone with information should call FBI Charlotte at 704-672-6100 or the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

Charlotte FBI Seeking Serial Bank Robber

UPDATE: Federal agents in Charlotte arrested Clyde Allen Nixon, 60, Tuesday at approximately 10:30 a.m. by the Kingsport Police Department in Kingsport, Tennessee, according to the FBI. Officers received information regarding Nixon's location and when they tried to take him into custody he fled the scene in a vehicle. He was arrested a short time later and is now facing charges in Tennessee in additional to numerous charges related to bank robberies in North Carolina.

The Charlotte Division of the FBI, the Asheville Police Department, and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office are seeking assistance to locate a serial bank robbery suspect. Currently there are three outstanding arrest warrants for Clyde Allen Nixon aka Thomas Carl Nixon.

Nixon is believed to be responsible for robberies at:

• Wells Fargo: 900 Smokey Park Highway, Asheville, North Carolina, on February 9, 2012
• RBC Centura: 1007 Smokey Park Highway, Buncombe County, North Carolina, on February 24, 2012
• First Citizens Bank: 1375 Patton Avenue, Asheville, North Carolina, on March 20, 2012
• First Bank: 6 Dogwood Road, Candler, North Carolina, on March 30, 2012

Nixon has friends and family throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. He has recently been seen in Buncombe, Carteret, Cleveland, Craven, Gaston, and Mecklenburg Counties in North Carolina. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

CMPD Seeking Two Robbery Suspects

Christopher Hamilton

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's VCAT (Violent Criminal Apprehension Team) is asking for the public's help in locating two fugitives who are wanted for armed robbery.

Christopher Charles Hamilton, 39, is wanted on outstanding warrants for robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery.  Christopher Hamilton has been a fugitive since March 9, 2012, when he assaulted and robbed a victim of property.  The N.C. Department of Corrections stated Hamilton has absconded from his probation/parole supervision. He is 5'8" and 155 pounds.

Mitchell Perry

Mitchell Leon Perry, 25, is wanted for a separate robbery that occurred on March 16, 2012 in which he robbed a victim at gunpoint while the victim was attempting to use an ATM machine on West Sugar Creek Road. Perry is is 5'11" and 150 pounds.

Jamarious Sherrill is wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) on outstanding warrants for interfering with an electronic monitoring device, breaking and entering a motor vehicle, and felony larceny. Sherrill has been on CMPD Electronic Monitoring since he was released from jail on 8/30/11.

Sherrill is the eighth offender to cut off his court ordered monitor in 2012. All of the previous offenders have been re-arrested. CMPD currently has 390 offenders on court ordered electronic monitoring.

Police Seeking to ID Armed Robber

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Robbery Unit are attempting to identify this subject in reference to an ongoing robbery investigation that occurred at 1308 Sharon Road West on March 8, 2012 at 10:07 p.m.

The subject in the pictures was the passenger of a newer model white Honda Civic or Accord parked at the entrance of the gas station in the photos attached.

Bernard Anthony Smith is wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) on outstanding warrants for robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed weapon, and interfering with an electronic monitoring device.

Smith has been on CMPD Electronic Monitoring since he posted a $91,000 bond November 1, 2011 and was released from jail. Smith appeared in superior court today to accept a guilty plea. Smith left the courthouse before his hearing started and cut off his electronic monitor on Harri Ann Drive in the Independence Division.  Smith has an extensive criminal history including several arrests for robbery, drugs, felony firearm, and assaults charges.

Smith is the sixth offender to cut off his court ordered monitor in 2012. All of the previous offenders have been re-arrested. CMPD currently has 390 offenders on court ordered electronic monitoring. Police Seeking Pot O Gold Robbery Suspect

On Friday March 2, 2012 at approximately 11:05 AM, a robbery from business took place at 3061 N. Sharon Amity Rd (Pot O Gold Sweepstakes). The suspect was described as a black male in his mid to late 20’s, early 30’s, approximately 5’8, wearing a black hoodie, black toboggan, and black pants. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from the business and also stole an employee’s vehicle to flee the scene.

The suspect was last seen driving a 2003 Silver/Gray Volkswagen Passat displaying NC TAG ABD-2060. Please have people call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600, if they can identify the suspect in these photos.

David Jamar Coleman is wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) on outstanding warrants for robbery with a dangerous weapon, probation violation, and interfering with an electronic monitoring device.

Coleman has been on CMPD Electronic Monitoring since he bonded out of jail on February 2, 2012. Coleman appeared in court today on a probation violation charge. Coleman left the courthouse before his hearing started and cut off his electronic monitor on North Tryon near Eastway Drive.

Coleman has an extensive criminal history including arrests for multiple charges of breaking and entering. Coleman is the fifth offender to cut off his court ordered monitor in 2012. CMPD currently has 375 offenders on court ordered electronic monitoring.

WANTED: Tomonta Quantez Simmons

UPDATE:  (3/2/12) Simmons was captured by CMPD.

Tomonta Simmons is wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) for outstanding warrants for interfering with an electronic monitoring device and multiple counts of felony probation violation. Simmons plead guilty and was released from jail on December 18, 2010. Simmons was placed on probation with the NC Department of Community Corrections and was being monitored by CMPD as part of a pilot project for priority offenders.

On November 9, 2011, Simmons cut off his monitor and was on the run until being arrested by VCAT on January 4, 2012. Simmons was released back into the community after he posted a $36,500 bond for the pending probation violation. Simmons appeared in Superior Court today, February 29, 2012 to answer to his felony probation violations. During a court lunch break, Simmons cut off his electronic monitor near Sugar Creek and I-85. Tomonta Simmons has previously been arrested for felony drug, larceny from auto, assault, and weapon charges in Mecklenburg County.

CMPD and the NC Department of Community Corrections are involved in a pilot program to monitor priority offenders on probation. Simmons is the second offender to cut off a CMPD electronic monitor as part of this pilot program which is in its second year. Simmons is the fourth offender to cut an electronic monitor off in 2012.

CMPD Seeking Financial Crime Suspect

On December 22, 2011 at 18:42 hours, Michael Yashema Byers attempted to send a wire transfer in the amount of $9,400 through the Western Union in the Food Lion located at 5831 South Boulevard. The suspect gave the cashier a stack of bills consisting of 20 and 50 dollar denomination totaling $9,400.

The wire transfer was accepted and the suspect left the scene. The cashier weighed the bills and began to check the bills individually. She discovered that all of the U. S. Treasury notes the suspect gave her were counterfeit notes. The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department Financial Crimes Unit identified the suspect and obtained a warrant on Michael Byers. Several attempts have been made to locate and arrest the suspect. He has not been located at this time.

The slideshow is that of a suspect from an Armed Robbery that occurred at the Radio Shack on E. Independence Blvd last week.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’ tall, thin build, in his early 20’s. He is clean shaven and has short hair. He was wearing a black zip-up sweatshirt or light jacket, faded blue jeans, black shoes and a black baseball cap with an Atlanta Braves “A” on the front. The suspect was armed with a small silver semi-auto handgun.

Man Wanted for Cutting off Electronic Monitoring

Alquez Thompson

Alquez Lee Thompson is wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) on outstanding warrants for interfering with an electronic monitoring device, possession of a handgun by a minor and carrying a concealed weapon. Thompson was on CMPD Electronic Monitoring while out on bond for pending charges. On December 8, 2011, Thompson cut off his court ordered monitor and is currently on the run.

Thompson has an extensive criminal history including 16 arrests in Mecklenburg county including assault with a deadly weapon, felony drug and felony weapon charges. Thompson should be considered Armed and Dangerous.
