CMPD responded to Buxton Drive around 9:00 last night in reference to someone shot. When police arrived they found Gregory Hicks, 48, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to CMC. Police say he sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries.Police arrested Hicks' neighbor, 39-year old Christian Liewald (R) for the shooting. He is charged with assault using a deadly weapon, resulting in a serious injury. Liewald is in the Mecklenburg County Jail with a $25,000 bond.
