Early this morning, police arrested 23-year old Sidney Wayne Williams after he robbed a 61-year old woman in the parking lot of the Park Road Shopping Center. Police say the woman was robbed at gunpoint and he attempted to take her car but it wouldn't start. Williams ran from the scene but officers located him a block away from where the robbery occurred.
Since June of 2000, Williams has been arrested 15 times in Mecklenburg County. This number includes two juvenile arrests. Since 2005, he's been convicted of several charges, including; receiving stolen property, possession of drugs, resisting an officer and hit & run. He was sentenced to probation for each charge.
