The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is currently investigating the shooting death of James Robert Hunt. The shooting occurred just before 7:00 pm at 3740 Durham Lane.North Division CMPD Officers responded to an assist Medic call in reference to one being shot. Officers arrived on scene and located the male victim lying face down in the driveway of his residence at 3740 Durham Lane. James Hunt was pronounced at the scene by Medic due to an apparent gun shot wound.
CMPD officers and detectives have been canvassing the neighborhood and are interviewing people who may have knowledge of the incident. Witnesses have reported seeing a red Monte Carlo vehicle in the area at the time of the incident. It is unknown at this time whether or not the occupant(s) of this vehicle witnessed anything or are somehow possibly involved in the incident.
