A husband and wife were found deceased in their home this evening, the victims of an apparent murder-suicide.
Family members discovered the couple shortly after 7:00 pm and called 911. When officers arrived, they found John (age 68) and Renate (age 69) Chronis on the floor of their home on Acorn Creek Lane in Northeast Charlotte.
CMPD Homicide Unit detectives are interviewing family members to determine what may have lead up to the shooting and suicide. Evidence at the scene indicates Mr. Chronis shot his wife and then shot himself. A handgun was recovered under Mr. Chronis. There were no prior calls for service at this couple's address.
