Officer Mike Haney of the Providence Division was working a burglary suppression patrol in the Dilworth neighborhood Wednesday morning when he observed two suspicious persons on Springdale Avenue .Officer Haney approached the two subjects and initiated a voluntary contact with them. The subjects gave Officer Haney permission to pat them down and the officer located numerous digital cameras and personal electronics in one of the subject’s pockets.
The two subjects were also carrying a backpack with an airport luggage tag on it. Officer Haney used the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s online reporting system, KBCOPS, to search for prior police reports involving the name on the tag.
Finding a prior report, Officer Haney made contact with the person whose name was on the tag and they confirmed that no one should be in possession of that backpack. Other officers responded to the victim’s home in the 600 block of Olmsted Park Place and found evidence of a burglary.The two subjects were taken into custody and both have been charged with felony breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.

- Teiresias Deandrea Metts- Metts has been arrested 15 times in Mecklenburg County since 2003.
- Todd Eric Boderick- Boderick has been arrested 10 times in Mecklenburg County since 2003. Boderick is currently on probation.
