Student Brings Gun to Myers Park High School

A ninth grade student at Myers Park High School brought a loaded gun to school Wednesday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials said.

The school resource officer got a tip that the student had a gun on campus. When the officer searched 17-year-old Adrian McLeod, he found a loaded .38 revolver and confiscated it, CMS says.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police tell NewsChannel 36 that McLeod had three rounds in the gun and one round in his pocket. He is not being cooperative with police, they say.

No students or teachers were harmed or threatened, CMS says. McLeod has been charged with a felony for possessing a firearm on school grounds. Police are investigating, and McLeod will be disciplined based on the CMS Code of Student Conduct.
