The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team never stopped working this case even after it was confirmed that Peters had fled the state. VCAT worked with the Hornet's Nest Task Force in Charlotte after developing a new possible address for the suspect in Roswell, GA. The USMS in Georgia recently began working the case.
---------------------------------

Peters was arrested on Sept. 29, 2008 for failure to register as a sex offender. While out on bond, Peters was ordered to wear a monitoring device.
Police routinely searched Peters' home on Jan. 2, 2009 and they found a cache of child pornography and Peters fled. Peters cut off the monitoring device and hasn't been seen since.
Peters has a black tattoo on the back of his neck that reads "Janie" and a crescent moon and star on his right arm. He was last seen driving a black four-door Honda with cheaply tinted windows. Peters has family in Charlotte, N.C., but police believe he has left the area.
If you know anything about Peters' whereabouts, call AMW's hotline at 1-800-CRIME-TV right now or Call Charlotte-Mecklenburg Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
