UPDATE 1/28/09: Earlier today, Officers with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department’s S.W.A.T. Team and V.C.A.T., arrested Latasha Nicole Hope and Perry Lamont Joines for the murder of Louis Navarre on January 2, 2009.
The arrest took place at the Economy Inn at 1415 Tom Hunter Road in the North Tryon Division. Warrants have also been signed against Eleni Andrew Hammond; she is currently in custody.
The three suspects have been charged with: Murder, First Degree Burglary and Armed Robbery
Detectives assigned to the Robbery Unit worked closely with Detectives assigned to the Homicide Unit to investigate this case. This case remains under investigation. CMPD Officers are investigating the first murder of 2009. Police say the shooting happened late Friday night along McGarry Trail.
Louis Navarre, 39, was shot and died after he tried to run to a neighbor's house for help. Police are looking for two men and a woman who ran from the scene. If you have any information, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
