Richard Priode, 44, a former CMS band teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year old student.Priode was teaching at South Mecklenburg High School in 2007 when he had the consensual sexual relationship with the student. The accusations only involve one student.
The police investigation didn't begin until April of 2009 when someone reported the incident to CMPD. Priode is charged with indecent liberties with a student.
Priode worked for CMS from August 2006 to June 2008. He left CMS last year and went to work at Sullivan Middle School in Rock Hill, SC.
