The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department Armed Robbery Unit, in conjunction with the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and the Pineville Police Department have charged Jamal Pittman and Steven Chambers with a series of business robberies located throughout Mecklenburg County.These suspects were located and identified during the course of a Homicide investigation which occurred in Pineville on January 23, 2010. Information was developed which implicated Pittman and Chambers in the following robberies:
- McDonald’s, 1201 W. Sugar Creek Rd. (Larceny by Employee)
- Circle K, 3201 Pineville-Matthews Rd.
- Dunkin Donuts, 9033 S. Tryon St .
- Petro Express, 4336 Park Rd.
- Taco Bell , 1800 E. Woodlawn Rd.- Harris Teeter, 9720 Rea Rd.
- Circle K, 2926 Selwyn Ave.
- Dunkin Donuts, 709 Kings Dr .
- Gas and Go Food Mart, 13209 Carowinds Blvd.
This investigation is continuing to determine if these suspects are involved in other robberies and if other suspects are involved.
