CMPD Investigates Homicide on Chasewood Drive

Case Update: January 12, 2010: The following subjects are wanted for the murder of Kelvin Clark which occurred at Chasewood Drive.

CMPD is requesting the public's assistance in locating Raymond Van Ervin and Franklin Marcus Grullon. If anyone has information as to their whereabouts, have them call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or 704-336-VCAT.

Case Update: January 12, 2010: Detectives with the Homicide Unit have charged Lizzette Celeste Drumgo and Jasmine Monai Johnson with the murder of Mr. Clark.


Both Ms. Drumgo and Ms. Johnson are in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, facing one count of the following charges in this incident:

* 1 count of Murder
* 2 counts Attempted Robbery with Dangerous Weapon
* 1 count Conspiracy to Commit Murder

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation at 1727 Chasewood Drive, Apartment 12. The circumstances surrounding the death are unknown at this time.

The call for service came in shortly after 2:20 a.m. Kelvin Clark, 29, was located inside what appears to be a vacant apartment.

Independence Division officers received a call for service in reference to an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, officers found one victim inside an apartment suffering from what appears to be a gunshot wound. Medic pronounced the victim deceased on scene. This investigation is in its initial stages.

Detectives with the Homicide Unit are on scene conducting the investigation. K-9 was called to the scene to perform a track with negative results. Crime Scene Search is on scene as well, photographing the scene and collecting physical evidence.
