Homicide Detectives Investigating Murder on Avalon Ave

Case Update: March 2, 2010: Overnight, Tracy Serveria Gilliam was located and apprehended in the Northeast District of Detroit, Michigan for the murder of LaSheira Hall. Officers with the Detroit Police Department received a call in reference to Mr. Gilliam’s whereabouts. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Detectives are enroute to Detroit to work with the detectives and facilitate extradition back the Charlotte.

Case Update: January 23, 2010: The attached photograph show the suspect vehicle involved in the Robbery that occurred at 3601 Brookshire Blvd, approximately one hour after the murder of Mr. White.

Homicide and Robbery Detectives believe that these two cases may have been committed by the same suspects. The suspect vehicle appears to be a black 2-door Monte Carlo occupied by 4-5 black males.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation at 3300 Avalon Avenue. Early indications suggest the deceased male is the victim of a robbery. The call for service came in shortly after 9:00 p.m. The deceased has been identified as David White.

Metro Division officers received an assist medic call in which a male subject was passed out. Upon arrival, officers found one victim suffering from what appears to be a gunshot wound. Medic pronounced the victim deceased on scene. This investigation is in its initial stages.

The preliminary investigation indicates this may be connected to another robbery incident that occurred an hour later at 10:14 p.m. at 3601 Brookshire Blvd involving five black males in a small black, 2-door Chevy Monte Carlo.

Detectives with the Homicide Unit are on scene conducting the investigation. Crime Scene Search is on scene as well, photographing the scene and collecting physical evidence.
