Robbery Trio Arrested in the Eastway Division

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has arrested Catrell Holloway, Gadarrius Murphy and Porschia Jordan.

On January 18, 2011, at approximately 4:30 pm, CMPD Eastway Division officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Wembley Drive to meet with a woman who had just been robbed. The woman stated she arrived at the location to look at a car she intended to purchase. The victim was approached by the suspects and one of them asked to borrow her cell phone.

As the suspect got within reach, he grabbed the victim's purse and attempted to take it as another one of the suspects indicated he had a gun and that she needed to give up the purse. The suspects took her purse and ran towards Central Avenue.

Officers checked the electronic monitoring proximity report to determine if anyone on EM had been in the area at the time of the robbery. The data indicated that Catrell Holloway, who was on electronic monitoring, was present at the location when the robbery occurred. Officers tracked Holloway’s movements and located him and another suspect in the 900 block of Pondella Drive.

The victim was transported to that location where she positively identified the suspects as the same three who robbed her earlier. Officers recovered the victims property from one of the suspects. All three suspects have been charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.

Catrell Holloway is also facing additional charges stemming from an earlier incident on January 17, 2011, in which he pointed a gun at a woman on Kentbrook Drive. Holloway had been placed Electronic Monitoring for a March 11, 2010 Armed Robbery he committed on Shamrock Drive.
