The Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s 'Crimes Against Persons Team' tried three defendants this week in Superior Court:
Colell Steele, 44, was tried for felony flee to elude and for being an habitual felon. The jury returned
a
guilty verdict on both charges. Judge William Constangy
sentenced Steele to serve a total sentence of 24-31 years in prison. In
the past three years, Steele has been arrested 12 TIMES in Meck County.
Kenneth B. Sims,
54, plead guilty to disseminating harmful material to minors. Sims was
sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of supervised
probation by Judge Collier.
Justin Eason,
21, plead guilty to common law robbery and conspiracy to commit common
law robbery. Eason was sentenced to 13-16 months in prison, suspended
for 36 months with 90 days in jail by Judge Collier. Eason has 5
arrests in Meck Cty since 2009.
