The victim stated she was tending to her sick child when she heard glass breaking. She looked out her bedroom window and observed the suspect breaking the glass of an exterior door. Once the suspect realized the residence was occupied, he walked away from the location.
As officers arrived on the scene, they observed a man matching the description of the suspect walking on a path between a building and some bushes. Officers approached the suspect who appeared to have blood on his hands and pieces of glass on his forehead. A pair of latex gloves were also recovered on the ground along the path where the suspect had walked.
The victim was brought to the suspect's location and positively identified the suspect, Corey Bivens, as the individual involved in the B&E. Bivens was arrested and charged with Attempted Breaking and Entering. The CMPD continues to urge citizens to observe and report suspicious activity by calling 911.
