CMPD Officers of the Month * June 2011

Officers Ottelin and Bartsch
Officer B. Ottelin of the Steele Creek Division was acknowledged on Monday June 6, 2011 for his outstanding work. In a one month period, Officer Ottelin has participated in the arrests of eight suspects wanted for two separate armed robberies, two separate larceny from vehicle incidents and one larceny of a motor vehicle incident. Officer Ottelin always does an outstanding job, but has performed over and above what is expected of him during this past month. In addition to this great work, he also plays on the CMPD Blue Hornets baseball team. He has demonstrated all of the attributes one would expect to be a recipient of the Officer of the Month.

Officer K. Bartsch is assigned to the University City Division and played a critical role in apprehending two priority offender’s who were committing several breaking and entering offenses. It was due to the dedication, hard work, communication and team work between 3rd and 4th shifts and the instincts of Officer Kirsten Bartsch that these suspects were taken into custody . If they hadn’t been apprehended the suspects would have continued to victimize the community. Officer Bartsch continues to demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent instincts when dealing with suspects, and leadership even as a young Officer with the CMPD.
