CMPD Homicide Detectives Make an Arrest for Murder of Clayton Alexander

Homicide Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have charged Jason Lamont Hill with the murder of Clayton Alexander.

On August 1, 2011, CMPD Eastway Division officers responded to 1013 Allen Street concerning a male who was pronounced deceased by MEDIC. Upon their arrival, officers requested Homicide Detectives to respond to the scene to conduct a death investigation.

Detectives were informed by an acquaintance of Mr. Alexander that he was physically assaulted on July 30, 2011 by an acquaintance to the victim following an earlier dispute. Mr. Alexander spent the following several days at his residence complaining of abdominal pain related to the assault. On August 1, 2011, Mr. Alexander succumbed to those injuries and was discovered unresponsive in his home.

During the course of the investigation detectives collected evidence and interviewed several witnesses and were able to determine that the Jason Lamont Hill assaulted Mr. Alexander during the July 30, 2011, altercation. That assault caused serious injuries that resulted in Mr. Alexander’s death. Jason Lamont Hill was arrested on August 15, 2011, without incident by the CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team.
