Detroit, MI Murder Suspect Arrested in Pineville

U.S. Marshals arrested Donald Ray Wiggins in an apartment in the 12500 block of Sabal Park Drive in Pineville, NC yesterday on a murder warrant issued by the Detroit, MI Police Department.  He has been on the run for nearly four years.

According to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service,  Donald Wiggins is suspected of murdering Mario Cross in Detroit, Michigan in June of 2008.   Mario Cross was involved in a relationship with Donald Wiggins' sister- who had a domestic altercation at a house in the 12500 block of Maiden Street, in Detroit.   As a result of the altercation, Wiggins fatally shot Cross.

Wiggins will be held in the Mecklenburg County Jail for the murder charge pending extradition back to Detroit, Michigan.
