Four Violent Criminals Convicted & Sent to Prison

The District Attorney’s Crimes Against Persons Team tried two defendants the week of February 27, 2012, in Mecklenburg County Superior Court:

-Adrian Williams, 23, was tried for 1) robbery with a dangerous weapon, and 2) conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. The jury returned a verdict of guilty. The Honorable F. Lane Williamson, Superior Court Judge, sentenced Williams to 72-96 months in prison.
-Manuel Alvarez, 37, was tried for taking indecent liberties with a child. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty.

Three defendants plead guilty before their cases were called for trial:
-Larry Burris, 49, pled guilty to common law robbery. Judge Williamson sentenced Burris to 16-20 months in prison.
-Charles Childress, 46, plead guilty to second degree sexual offense. Judge Williamson sentenced Childress to 58-79 months in prison.
-Tahjaue Wiley, 20, plead guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Judge Williamson sentenced Wiley to 15-27 months in prison. That sentence was suspended pending his successful completion of 24 months of supervised probation.
