Habitual Offender Arrested for Breaking & Entering

Hickory Grove Division Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have arrested Deshawn Speller.  On Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at approximately 2:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to an alarm call to a home in the 8100 block of Cox Court.

Officers arrived they discovered Speller in a car backed into the driveway with the lights off. Officers also observed a window of the home appeared to be opened to a room that had been ransacked.  In the trunk of the vehicle the suspect was occupying at the time, officers observed a personal computer, gaming system, clothing, and other items belonging to the homeowner. The homeowner advised that she did not give anyone permission to enter her home and remove her property.

Speller was arrested and charged with breaking and entering with force and felony larceny.  This is Speller’s third breaking and entering with force arrest since 2009. The CMPD will continue to work to remove individuals who repeatedly prey on our community from society.
