Man Pleads Guilty in Exploding Pen Case at Turning Point Academy

On October 18, 2010, an explosion occurred after Jessie Bauguess brought an explosive pen to CMS' Turning Point Academy- and one child was injured during the explosion.  After the arrest, CFD Firefighters went to Burguess' home and three firefighters suffered minor injuries when a product they were testing exploded.  They found several explosives at his home.

This morning, Jessie Bauguess accepted a plea deal in the case - pleading guilty to malicious use of explosives inflicting injury, malicious damage by explosives and possession of a weapon on school grounds.  He was sentenced to 38 to 55 months in jail, which will include time served.
