Four teens charged after placing fireworks in mailboxes

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said four teenagers have been charged with the destruction of two postal mail boxes in the Legacy Park Community in Indian Land.

Investigators stated that "mortar-type fireworks" were placed in two mailboxes and then lit. The incidents occurred back in July, said the Sheriff's Office.

The teenagers, ranging in ages from 13 to 16, were charged with malicious injury to property. Officials said they were petitioned to Lancaster County Department of Juvenile Justice and will appear in family court to face the charges.
