Catawba County Sheriff's Deputies took a Hickory man into custody late Thursday after his estranged wife was found stabbed to death.
Deputies were called to Springs Road NE in Hickory around 5:15pm.
The location is where the 46-year-old estranged woman's husband was living at the time. Deputies found the estranged husband driving the victim's vehicle, they also say he was covered in blood.
Family members said the victim was at her estranged husband's home to sign some legal documents Thursday afternoon. No one had heard from her since that time.
The victim was the mother of four children.
Monroe David Byrd Junior, 46, has been charged with murder, according to deputies.
