Police Warn Public of Burglar Posing as ADT Security

After reports of an intruder posing as ADT Security personnel in Denver, Lincoln County police are urging residents not to let anyone in their homes that haven't been authorized to be there.

The announcement comes after a woman in Lincoln County reported an intruder posing as an employee of ADT Security.  The man addressed as an employee of ADT when he arrived Wednesday at her home on Fay Jones Road. He was wearing a blue ADT polo and a name tag that read "Larry". She let the man inside after he told her he needed to inventory her possessions for the company.

After he was in the home, the man proceeded to ask about the location of valuables inside. The woman became suspicious and asked the man to leave when he asked if the home was in foreclosure.

When the woman called ADT Security, she was informed that no companies employees or employees of an independent dealer are authorized to approach homes to ask questions of that nature. According to detectives, ADT could not identify any employee by the name of Larry in the area.

The intruder was described as a white male with brown hair and glasses about 40 - 50 years of age. The man had parked his vehicle in the driveway, but had positioned it a far distance away from the house so that no tag number was recovered.
