Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers arrested 53 year-old Patrick Costantino Wednesday on forgery charges. Castantino is accused of stealing a check for $1,250 from someone else's mailbox, altering the check, and cashing it at a bank in Iredell county.
Costantino was identified by surveillance photos from the bank, and his information was verified by a teller. Costantino is charged with obtaining property by false pretense and forgery of an instrument. He was jailed in Mecklenburg County under a secured bond.
