CMPD Arrests Second Suspect in Wednesday's Murder Case

Seventeen year-old Trellis Tremayne Rogers  was arrested by CMPD Saturday in connection with the shooting death of 25 year-old Zachary Jamal Pittman last Wednesday night.

The shooting occurred near the intersection of Yellow Rose Lane and Terrier Way. According to authorities, Pittman ran to nearby English Setter Way after being shot, where he later died. Rogers is accused of setting up a drug transaction with Pittman before the killing.

Police charged Rogers with murder and two counts of armed robbery, the same as his accomplice in the case, 20 year-old  Brandon Newkirk, who was arrested last week.
