District Attorney's Report: Property Team convicts six defendants during trial week

During the week of August 27-31, 2012, the District Attorney’s Property Team called cases for trial in courtroom 5150 before The Honorable Richard D. Boner, Senior Resident Superior Court Judge and in courtroom 5370 before The Honorable F. Lane Williamson, Superior Court Judge.

Brandon Joseph Allen, 22, was tried for felony larceny of a firearm. The jury returned a verdict of guilty. Judge Boner sentenced Allen to 6-8 months in prison; that sentence was suspended pending his successful completion of 30 months of supervised probation.

Alando Walter, 20, was tried for 1) felony breaking or entering, 2) felony larceny and, 3)
conspiracy.  The felony larceny charge was dismissed by the court at the end of state’s
evidence.  The jury returned a verdict of guilty to the lesser included offense of misdemeanor
breaking or entering and a verdict of not guilty to the charge of conspiracy. Judge Boner
sentenced Walter to 45 days in jail.

The following defendants pled guilty when their cases were called for trial:

Linda Simpson, 51, pled guilty to felony exploitation of an elder adult.  Judge Boner
sentenced Simpson to 6-8 months in prison; that sentence was suspended pending her
successful completion of 60 months of supervised probation and payment of $34,239.00 in
restitution.

Kevin Medrano, 20, pled guilty to 1) felony breaking or entering, 2) felony larceny and, 3)
felony possession of stolen goods. Judge Boner sentenced Medrano to 5-6 months in prison;
that sentence was suspended pending his successful completion of 30 months of supervised
probation. As a condition of his probation, Medrano must serve 30 days in jail and pay
$1,500.00 in restitution.

Jerrell McDaniel, 26, pled guilty to felony larceny of a motor vehicle.  Judge Williamson
sentenced McDaniel to 6-8 months in prison; that sentence was suspended pending his
successful completion of 18 months of supervised probation.
