CMPD, Secret Service, Rowan Deputies Arrest Man for Counterfeit Money

Investigators with CMPD worked together with Secret Service agents and the Rowan County Sheriff's Office to arrest Milton McKnight for paying for automotive parts with counterfeit $50 and $100 bills throughout the month of August.

Officers from all three agencies executed search warrants for McKnight's home and business on September 12. They found more counterfeit money on his person and in his home during the searches. Investigators say that McKnight ordered automotive parts from businesses in Rowan County and paid for them with the counterfeit bills. This led to an investigation into the matter which opened on August 7.

McKnight was jailed in Mecklenburg County under a $15,000 bond.
