Two Men Arrested for Saturday Shooting & Robbery

Eddie Williams
Two men have been arrested by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police in connection with a shooting and a robbery Saturday night.

Nineteen year-old Antonio Montgomery was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Twenty year-old Eddie Williams has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

The first incident occurred Saturday night at the 4100 block of Brookshire Boulevard. Police were dispatched after a man was shot by two men in a white pickup truck. The victim of that shooting was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and is expected to recover.

Antonio Montgomery
Shortly after that incident, two people were robbed in the Reid Park Lane area by a man driving the same vehicle. A vehicle matching that description was found in the Freedom Division by a CMPD detective. That detective recognized Williams, who has a significant criminal record, as living at the address listed for the vehicle's owner.

According to police, Montgomery drove the white truck often. Both men are accused of participating in the Brookshire Boulevard shooting, though Montgomery is accused of being the shooter.
