Huntersville Post Office Declared Safe After Bomb Squad Investigates Suspicious Package

CMPD have issued the all-clear after a suspicious package was discovered near a Huntersville post office on Gilead Road just after noon today.

The post office was evacuated as the bomb squad investigated the scene. Local roads were also closed out of safety concerns. After about an hour, the bomb squad determined that there were no explosives in the package. Area roads were again opened and people were allowed to re-enter the post office.

Two Students Charged with Felony False Bomb Threats

CMPD & Matthews Police have arrested Dorothy Nicole Moore, 17 and Jihad Donovan Glover, 18, in connection with the recent bomb threats at Butler High School, located in Matthews, NC.

Both are students at CMS' Butler High School and now each face three felony counts of making a false bomb report.

The bomb threats were called in from pay phones on three separate occasions between February 24th and March 7th.

The arrests are a result of a joint investigation by Matthews Police Department and the CMPD.
