Results of Police Checkpoint

The results of this checkpoint are pretty scary. The checkpoint was only for six hours late Thursday night and early Friday morning and it seems we have some problem drivers in Charlotte (as if we didn't know that already)

According to The Charlotte Observer, the checkpoint police conducted on March 9th near Johnston Rd near the I-485 ramp, resulted in 89 traffic violations.

- 13 citations for driving while impaired.
- 8 motorists were caught driving without a license or with a revoked license.
- 7 citations for drug charges.
- 61 citations for other traffic-related offenses.

According to News 14 Carolina:
Since November, six wrong-way incidents – many of them deadly wrecks – have been reported in the Charlotte area, and police say a common thread has been alcohol. With that in mind, they say drivers can expect to see more DWI checkpoints in the coming days.
