On July 21, 2007, CMPD Officers responded to Carolinas Medical Center in reference to a 5-month old baby boy that was brought to the hospital not breathing. CMC doctors indicated the child had head trauma, rib fractures and bruising. Detectives interviewed the child’s parents who denied inflicting any harm to the child.On November 20, 2007, CMPD Detectives signed a warrant on the child’s mother, Miranda Lynn Harper (R) for Felony Child Abuse (G.S. 14-318) inflicting serious bodily Injury. She is in the Mecklenburg County Jail under a $5,000 bond.
