Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department ADW Unit Detectives are investigating a shooting that left one person critically injured. The incident occurred at 2123 Canterwood Drive, Apartment 5 in the North Tryon Division. The call for service came in shortly before 7:00 a.m., on Sunday, April 4, 2010. The victim was transported to Carolinas Medical Center-Main with life threatening injuries.
North Tryon Division officers responded to a shooting call which left one person suffering from apparent gunshot wounds from a suspect known to all occupants of the apartment. Following a party at the apartment, the victim and suspect engaged in an argument that ended with the suspect shooting the victim and fleeing the scene.
According to witnesses, the suspect, Eyonel Flores Gonzalez fled the scene in a 4-door green Saturn with a Honduras tag on the front of the vehicle.
Warrants have been signed for Mr. Gonzales’ arrest for ADWIKISI (Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury). CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) is actively looking for Mr. Gonzales.
