CMPD Seeking Man on Electronic Monitoring Release

UPDATE:  8/23- Montford was captured by CMPD. He is back in jail.

Travores Montford AKA Tavaris/Tavories Montford is wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) for outstanding warrants for interfering with an electronic monitoring device, damage to property, and armed robbery.

Montford has been on CMPD electronic monitoring since his May 20, 2011 release from jail on bond for a pending armed robbery charge. On August 19, 2011 Montford cut off his court ordered monitor and is currently on the run. Montford was last seen in the area of Mill Road in Charlotte.

Montford has an extensive arrest history in Mecklenburg County including burglaries, robberies, auto thefts, drugs, assaults, and weapon charges.

Anyone with information on Montford’s whereabouts should immediately contact the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) at (704) 336-VACT or call 911.

According to CMPD, Montford is the 15th offender to cut off a CMPD electronic monitor in 2011. In 2011, less than 2% of the offenders monitored cut off their monitors and all of the previous 14 offenders have been recaptured.
