Teen Found Dead on Arbroath Court

UPDATE II:   Homicide Unit Detectives have arrested Nicholas Eshaad Wright and charged him with the murder of Aerial Patterson.  He has also been charged with Armed Robbery and is currently in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

UPDATE I:  With the assistance of CMPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT), Steele Creek Division officers, and members of Vice and Narcotics; Eddie Yannick Doh, was apprehended and charged with the murder of Ms. Patterson.

Additionally, Eddie Doh was charged with Armed Robbery and Possession of Firearm by Felon and has been transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office where he will remain in their custody.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation at 15129 Arbroath Court, which is located in the Steele Creek Division. The call for service came in at 3:42 am.  The female victim has been positively identified as 17-year old Aerial Patterson.

According to the CMPD, Steele Creek Division officers responded to Arbroath and found Miss Patterson suffering from fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased on scene.

According to a friend of the victim, she was dropped off at the above address by a friend to meet an unknown person through a pre-arrangement.  When her friend came back to pick up the victim, she was discovered deceased in the yard. The address where the victim was located is an unoccupied residence.

The friend of the victim is cooperating with the investigation and has voluntarily been taken to Police Headquarters to provide a statement. Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood in an effort to identify any witnesses.

Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical and forensic evidence. In addition, the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Homicide Prosecution Team responded to the scene.
