The accident occurred approximately 4:10 AM on the street's 3000 block, where 28 year old Rhonda Williamson was walking down the road with her back to oncoming traffic and struck by Perez's vehicle, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
Perez was found within a hotel parking lot by police responding to the call. She had apparently driven to the site, within one mile of the accident and was recognized because of her car's appearance.
Williamson was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
