Donald Pruitt in Charlotte?

Police searched Freedom Park in Charlotte today after a possible sighting of escaped convict and suspected serial rapist Donald Pruitt. A former classmate of Pruitt's thought he spotted Donald Pruitt get off a bus near Freedom Park.

Police searched the park and surrounding area but were unable to locate Pruitt. Photographer Jonathan Jones was at the park and captured police looking for the rapist.

Donald Pruitt escaped from an Anson County prison last month and is wanted for three rapes. Donald Pruitt is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, you should call 911.

Three rapes linked to Pruitt:
• On July 20, 1991, a 31-year-old woman was asleep in her Polk Street home when a man entered through an open window. He threatened her with a knife, raped her, then fled.
• On November 23, 1991, a 27-year-old woman was asleep when an intruder entered her Rodey Avenue home through an open window. The victim was threatened and raped before the man fled the residence.
• On November 25, 1991, a 60-year-old woman was asleep when a man entered her Druid Circle home through an open window. He threatened her, raped her, then fled.
