On January 12, 2009, at approximately 8:50 pm, Mint Hill Police responded to 4804 Stoney Trace Drive in reference to a robbery. Officers met with the victim, a white female who was employed by Pizza Hut in Mint Hill. The victim stated that she went to deliver a pizza to an apartment in this building and was physically assaulted. The suspect then fled in the victim’s vehicle, taking the keys and the victim’s cash from her person.
On January 13, 2009, at approximately 2:50 am, the victim’s vehicle (a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina) was located at the Circle K in Mint Hill by an on-duty patrol officer. The vehicle was occupied by one black male, later identified as William Charles Clifton III. Clifton is described as a black male with short dreadlocks, approximately 5’11” tall, 150 pounds with a slim build.
Mint Hill Police currently have two felony warrants (Common law robbery and larceny of motor vehicle) for the arrest of this suspect. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of William Charles Clifton III is asked to contact Mint Hill Police and speak with Det. Garmon at 704-545-1085.
