16-Year Old Busted with Loaded Gun on CMS High School Campus

Mark Obrian Ellis, 16, was arrested yesterday after CMS' school officials said he brought a loaded gun to West Charlotte High School.

Mark Ellis is not a student at West Charlotte HS but a student of the CMS Right Choices Program, which is a 6-week alternative program for students who have violated the CMS Code of Student Conduct.

Ellis was charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds, possession of a handgun-minor, possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed weapon (gun), resisting a police officer and trespassing.  His prior record includes common law robbery and disorderly conduct.

12-Year Old Found with Loaded Gun at CMS School

CMS officials are reporting that they discovered a 12-year old seventh grade student brought a loaded gun to CMS' Community House Middle School, located in Ballantyne area of Charlotte.

CMS Officials said the loaded gun was discovered about 1:30pm on Tuesday. It was found after classmates alerted a teacher about seeing a student with the weapon. That student was questioned who said it was another student was who had the loaded gun. Administrators questioned the second student and later found the gun.

Once the gun was found, authorities were notified immediately and Principal Jamie Brooks sent out a Connect Ed message to all parents.  The 12-year-old was taken off campus in a patrol car.

15-Year Old Kills Parents in Pineville

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation at 12313 Buxton Drive, in the South Division. The call for service was reported at 2:05 a.m., on Monday, September 26, 2011. The victims have been positively identified as Christian Hans Liewald and Cassie Meghan Buckaloo.

Homicide Unit Detectives have arrested the suspect,15-year Matthew Liewald and charged him with the Murder of his Father and Step-Mother.  Liewaldhas also been charged with Armed Robbery and Attempted Auto Theft.

South Division Officers initially responded to a Check the Welfare call placed by a male subject who stated that he needed the police but refused to say why. The subject then called 911 again and stated that he had shot his dad and his step-mother. The subject identified himself and stated that he would be sitting on a nearby street corner waiting for officers to arrive.

When officers arrived on scene, they took the subject into custody. Two officers then drove to the address on Buxton Drive where they found a male and an female, both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Once officers determined that there were no additional subjects inside the residence they secured the scene and called for the Homicide Unit. The subject who called 911 has been transported to police headquarters. Homicide Unit Detectives will canvass the neighborhood to determine if there are any witnesses to the incident.

Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Detectives with the Special Victims Division responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.

Murder Suspect Commits Armed Robbery in Cabarrus County

On August 22, 2010, Danielle Holmes was arrested for murdering Oscar Chavez during a heroin drug deal gone bad with her boyfriend Jonathan Fitzgerald

According to the MCSO Inmate information, Holmes was held in the Mecklenburg County Jail on a $800,000 bond until December 22, 2010 when she was bailed out and put on electronic monitoring until her trial date. 

On July 16th, Danielle Holmes, 18, was arrested again by the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office and is charged with armed robbery, conspiracy and two drug charges.  Her bond is set at $1,000,000.  (Read Police Report)
